WHAT KIND OF PUNCTURES CAN BE REPAIRED?
We are only permitted to repair tyres on the tread area of the tyre which is contact with the road surface, these are described as minor repair zones*. Anything outside of this i.e. the tyre sidewall are considered as major repair zones and are unable to be repaired.
CAN YOU REPAIR RUN FLAT TYRES?
YES: providing the tyre is in a repairable condition
NO: If it has been run flat and there is damage to the tyre.
NO: If the tyre has been damaged or punctured on the sidewall or edge of the tyre.
WHEN SHOULD A TYRE BE REPLACED INSTEAD OR REPAIRED?
In some cases it is adviseable to replace the tyre instead of repairing, this would be due to a number of factors including; tread depth is less than the legal requirement (1.6mm), previous damage has been poorly repaired or serious damage to the tyre structure (i.e. damaged bead or exposed cords).
