TYRE REPAIRS

Have you got a Slow puncture or Flat Tyre? We can help!

TYRE PUNCTURE REPAIRS

If you have a tyre that is slowly losing pressure or is flat, then we can help. Most flat or deflating tyres are usually caused by either a foreign object like a nail puncturing the tyre or in the case of pressure loss a faulty valve or a break in the seal between the rim and the tyre which sometimes can be caused by hitting a curb.

Simply visit us and one of our technicians will inspect your tyre to see if a tyre repair is possible.

HOW WE REPAIR TYRES

When we carry out repairs, your tyre is taken off the wheel and inspected for damage. Many tyre centres will “stich” the tyre to repair without inspecting the inside of the tyre. THIS IS DANGEROUS. After inspection, the bead area of your wheel is cleaned a new tubeless valve is fitted, the tyre is repaired and then rebalanced before refitting to your car.

WHAT KIND OF PUNCTURES CAN BE REPAIRED?

We are only permitted to repair tyres on the tread area of the tyre which is contact with the road surface, these are described as minor repair zones*. Anything outside of this i.e. the tyre sidewall are considered as major repair zones and are unable to be repaired.

CAN YOU REPAIR RUN FLAT TYRES?

YES: providing the tyre is in a repairable condition
NO: If it has been run flat and there is damage to the tyre.
NO: If the tyre has been damaged or punctured on the sidewall or edge of the tyre.

WHEN SHOULD A TYRE BE REPLACED INSTEAD OR REPAIRED?

In some cases it is adviseable to replace the tyre instead of repairing, this would be due to a number of factors including; tread depth is less than the legal requirement (1.6mm), previous damage has been poorly repaired or serious damage to the tyre structure (i.e. damaged bead or exposed cords).

In all cases one of our technicians will be happy to inspect your tyre and advise on the best possible solution.
